Natural Language Processing

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is to make computers process the words we use in our daily lives.

Google search and translation, which are already a part of our daily lives, are among the services born from natural language processing.

What I am interested in is applying NLP to make AI understand emotions.

For example, if AI could understand “humor” and “puns,” wouldn’t that be a very interesting?

Humor cognition requires very advanced understandings of human emotion mechanisms. (i.e., To get cause of laughing points are sometimes difficult for foreign language learners…)

By generating jokes trained on humorous texts, I study humor from the computational point of views.

AI and humor are also discussed in detail in the following pages.
